Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership's fuel distribution operations, which serve approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers, and distributors.

Summary

The Sunoco LP Commercial Business Development team seeks a professional with a degree in accounting, finance, engineering, science, or economics, and a background in refined fuel supply chain. Experience in blending and trading marine bunker fuels in Northeast, Southeast, USGC, and Caribbean markets is a plus. The role includes supporting business development for jet fuel, diesel, and government contracts. The successful candidate will report to the Sr. Director of Commercial Business Development and will transition to a role in Commercial Supply and Trading.

Job Functions
  1. Develop and implement new bunker fuels business opportunities, optimize existing terminal capacity, explore new terminal leases, and handle purchasing and reselling marine gas oil, jet fuel, and diesel. Aim to generate $100 million EBITDA in 3-5 years.
  2. Have a deep understanding of complex supply and trading transactions, marine operations, risk management, strategic planning, and business development. Maintain relationships with suppliers, ship brokers, and bunker fuel users across regions.
  3. Support procurement activities to secure the lowest cost products by identifying new markets, analyzing market economics, communicating opportunities, obtaining management approval, and measuring results.
  4. Collaborate with logistics to identify key tank lease opportunities based on sound economic strategies.
  5. Negotiate supply deals, manage risk exposure, communicate with Supply and Trading teams, and use Right Angle software.
Skills/Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years in fuel supply and trading
  • Ability to purchase and resell marine gas oil, jet, and diesel fuels
  • Understanding of marine bunker fuels sales processes across regions
  • Relationships with industry participants
  • Knowledge of U.S. fuel supply chain markets
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Independent, results-driven professional
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
