Job description

Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!

At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver our newly awarded Smoking Cessation support service across Hampshire, and we’re looking for a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor to join us!

Our programme is designed to support residents of Hampshire access the support they need to stop smoking. This can be done through a number of approaches and will include the supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) being sent to them. Combining these, with digital, remote or face-to face appointments with Stop Smoking Advisors to support them to ensure their quit attempt is successful.

This is an exciting role that will provide tailored specialist stop smoking support, over a 12 to 26 week intervention, to people with a severe mental illness, pregnant women (including those in the post-partum 6 weeks after giving birth), and individuals at high risk of relapse. The role will also include the delivery of a cut down to stop programme for people who will benefit from a longer lead in time and in particular priority groups such as people experiencing homelessness or people with a severe mental illness. Whilst the service will have a dedicated specialist stop smoking children and young people advisor, should additional capacity be required to support this cohort (inclusive of ensuring we have excellent geographic coverage for the offer) this will be provided through the role in question too.

Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.

A typical day as a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor might include:

  • Delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on smoking cessation, behaviour change, and psychological support to save lives by helping smokers quit for good
  • Running stop smoking clinics across various settings by working with clients on both a one-to-one and group basis
  • Working with partner organisations and colleagues across the healthcare system (and integrated care system as a whole) to help improve patient uptake and meet targets
  • Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients, in alignment with our policies and procedures
  • Engaging in training relevant to your role, such as NCSCT Stop Smoking training and Behaviour Change Level 1 and 2
  • Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!
  • Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance
  • Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!

About you…

More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart in to their work. We’ve got some core values that run through everything we do, and we’d love it if they resonate with you too!

Be the change

You like helping people. You’ll be working with those who need help the most, empowering them to make positive changes to thrive.

Be effective

You’re patient and can adapt under pressure. Always happy to make time for other people, and have a great attitude.

Be happy

You recognise the power of a smile. You value a fun, supportive workplace and want to come to work raring to go (check out our rating on Glassdoor).

Be successful

You are motivated and driven. Happy working solo or as part of a team, you love meeting targets and will be given opportunities to contribute and develop your career.

Be big-hearted

You want to make a difference. Working with a like-minded team of optimistic people, you want to engage in meaningful work and change lives.

To work with us in this role you will need to have some delivery experience of supporting clients to make healthy lifestyle choices. Full training for the role will be provided, however if you have already completed your NCSCT Stop Smoking Advisor training that’s a bonus!

We hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience so if you feel you are right for the job we would love to hear from you!

Perks…

Every person makes Thrive Tribe the incredible place it is to work and play together, we’re unstoppable. Within our buzzing environment our talented people work hard but we ensure lots of fun is thrown in too! We offer you;

  • Tailored health and wellbeing support such as access to life coaching
