Role Overview

This role can be remote; however, we are specifically targeting candidates based on the East Coast.

As a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) - Data Science & ML, you will be the trusted technical ML expert to both Databricks customers and the Field Engineering organization. You will work with Solution Architects to guide customers in architecting production-grade ML applications on Databricks, aligning their technical roadmap with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. You will also develop your technical skills in GenAI, LLMOps, and ML, while mentoring others and establishing yourself as an ML expert.

The Impact You Will Have

• Architect production-level ML workloads for customers using our unified platform, including ML pipelines, training/inference optimization, cloud-native integrations, and MLOps.
• Provide advanced technical support during technical sales, covering feature engineering, training, tracking, serving, and model monitoring within a single platform; participate in the ML SME community at Databricks.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to represent customer needs, influence the product roadmap, and promote adoption of Databricks’ ML offerings.
• Build and expand customer data science workloads, applying best MLOps practices to productionize across various domains.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor for customers developing GenAI solutions, including RAG architectures, natural language querying of structured data, content generation, and monitoring.

What We Look For

• 5+ years of hands-on industry ML experience in areas such as:
• ML Engineering: Developing cloud infrastructure supporting ML deployment, drift monitoring, etc.
• Data Science: Expertise in NLP techniques, vector databases, fine-tuning LLMs, deploying LLMs with tools like HuggingFace, Langchain, and OpenAI.
• Graduate degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for collaboration, continuous learning, and driving ML values.
• [Preferred] 2+ years customer-facing experience in pre-sales or post-sales roles.
• [Preferred] Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
• Ability to meet technical training and role-specific outcomes within 3 months of hire.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks offers a fair and equitable compensation package, with base salary ranges of $139,800—$247,300 USD depending on location and experience. The total package may include bonuses, equity, and benefits. Specific ranges vary by region, detailed on our benefits page.
