Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a Safety Compliance Specialist to oversee adherence to federal, state, and local guidelines within Child Nutrition Services. The role reports to the CNS Director and requires strong knowledge of safety codes and HACCP, plus hands-on management experience.

The position is full-time in Mission, Texas, with responsibilities including staff trainings, inspections coordination, and collaboration with local health departments.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. with Certified Food Management Certificate (CFM) within one month.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in management (preferred).
  • Knowledge of fire, safety, health codes and HACCP procedures.
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment knowledge.
  • Computer operation, basic math, typing, and 10-key calculator use.
  • Personnel management and strong planning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
  • Monitor campus program operations for compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Assist with the marketing and merchandising of school lunch, breakfast, and supper programs.
  • Conduct staff trainings and in-services as requested.
  • Assist with planning, procurement of supplies, setting up, and cleaning after District catering events.
  • Adhere to sanitation and safety guidelines corresponding to Child Nutrition Programs.
  • Attend meetings, in-services, trainings, and workshops as requested.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and staff development trainings, submit required documentation by established deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work closely with CNS General Maintenance Staff to assure all cafeteria equipment is functioning properly.
  • Be available after hours and on weekends.
  • Responsible for injury and injury investigation reports.
  • Attend all District Safety Meetings.
  • Coordinate with local health departments to ensure inspections comply with state regulations.

Physical Demands
