Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis seeks a pharmacist to provide age-specific pharmaceutical care and basic clinical services for assigned patient care areas. You will manage medication orders, prepare sterile products, participate in inventory and pharmacotherapeutic planning, and support unit and hospital goals.

The role requires one year of hospital pharmacy experience, a Pharm.D. or B.S., and active licensure with timely attainment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
  • Current, active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure for appropriate state or eligibility.
  • Must acquire licensure within 120 days of hire date.
  • One year of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) Certification.
  • BLS and/or ACLS certification, advanced post-graduate training or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Computer literacy, interpersonal skills, general clinical awareness.
  • Basic computer literacy and communication skills.
  • High-level cognitive ability to interpret and understand written medication orders and reference materials.

Responsibilities

  • Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
  • Participates in inventory management.
  • Participates in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes.
  • Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
  • Supervises and directs healthcare team members.
  • Contributes to goals, programs and report cards for unit/department/hospital.
  • Provides drug information.
  • Provides education.
  • Participates actively on inter and intra-departmental committees.
  • Maximizes safety and efficiency through appropriate use of automation.
  • Completes assigned goals.
