What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand revolutionizing the electric pickup truck and rugged SUV market by:

  1. Developing, creating, and implementing planning concepts and projects, including design specifications for the Paint-Shop department, ensuring measures and techniques are developed considering economic standards.
  2. Coordinating, planning, and optimizing Paint Shop materials and processes across different sequences, considering quality, costs, process reliability, recycling, and disposal.
  3. Creating production plans for all work sequences, ensuring measures are followed, and coordinating technical contractors.
  4. Maintaining an ergonomic, safety, and environmentally friendly work environment in the Paint Shop.
  5. Approving technical specifications for production equipment and clarifying process and quality requirements with contractors and suppliers.
  6. Creating specifications, schedules, and investment plans aligned with economic standards.
  7. Preparing comparative analyses and purchase orders.
  8. Managing pre-series and production ramp-up to series operation.
  9. Processing planning orders, improvement proposals, and change requests with ongoing revisions.
  10. Coordinating with R&D and operators to implement product design suggestions and optimize processes.
  11. Performing additional tasks as required, in collaboration with supervisors and departments, adhering to standards and regulations.
  12. Steering and coordinating external personnel and service providers.

Location & Travel Expectations: The role requires in-person attendance at Scout Motors in Columbia, SC, and occasional travel for events or meetings.

What you’ll bring

We seek candidates with integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, a positive attitude, and a growth mindset. Adaptability in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and collaborative spirit are essential. Additionally, you should have:

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive production, especially with Paint Shop processes and materials.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical, materials engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience leading contractors in paint shop environments, from lab and trial phases to implementation and acceptance.
  • Ability to unify diverse teams toward common technical goals.
  • Strong project management skills and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

Pay Transparency

This full-time, exempt role offers a base salary ranging from $110,000 to $130,000, plus an annual performance bonus. Final salary depends on skills and experience.
