Responsibilities

  • Assists in building and maintaining business systems.
  • Ensures systems operate as designed and evaluates change requests.
  • Documents processes, suggests improvements, and makes decisions on system issues.
  • Engages in project management initiatives for system and department projects.
  • Gathers business cases while managing budget and timelines.
  • Assesses and refines system functionality; develops tests and implements improvements.

  • Ensures quality and supports reporting and database queries.
  • Troubleshoots ADMS/OMS issues and coordinates with IT for resolution.
  • Supports outage management tools and related systems (OMS, ADMS, PCAD, IFS, ARCOS, SharePoint).
  • Assists in storm process training and maintains documentation.
  • Role during storm mobilization includes on-call responsibilities.

Job Summary

General responsibilities are to support Customer Service and Operations (CSO) in Wisconsin System Operations by performing business and operations analysis work supporting the business decision‑making needs of CSO. The Specialist will act as a liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of enhancements to existing systems and new systems. This position performs business systems needs analysis, assists in formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research and fact finding combined with a basic understanding of business systems, processes and industry requirements. Other responsibilities include; defining specifications, conducting testing, performing training, implementing and maintaining systems, interacting with software vendors, and assists in developing recommendations to solve problems and issues related to System Operations. This role may also require project management oversight on CSO initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists in the building and maintaining of business systems
  • Ensures systems are operating as designed, evaluates requests for changes, and provides routine system maintenance
  • Documents system processes and procedures, suggests system improvements, and makes daily decisions involving direct application of technical knowledge to system issues
  • Engages with project management initiatives for system and departmental projects
  • Assists in developing business cases while managing the budget and timeline for the project
  • Assess and refine system functionality by formulating solutions, developing test plans, conducting testing, and implementing improvements
  • Conducts system training and performs training evaluations
  • Articulates customer and technology requirements into structured documents and communications with customers and IT specialists to ensure the requirements can be clearly understood
  • Maintains relationships with other IT areas and outside vendors
  • Coordinates work with IT staff and other business units
  • Ensures business systems are operating at an acceptable level of quality
  • Monitors the use of routine controls and assists end users in developing reports and/or database queries
  • Troubleshoots Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) issues and relates feedback to IT for resolution
  • Supports a variety of outage management tools and systems such as; OMS, ADMS PCAD, IFS, ARCOS, SharePoint, and OM Web Portal
  • Assists in the development and roll out of system and storm process training
  • Maintains and updates a variety of documentation including; manuals, lesson plans, and procedures
  • This position also has a role during storm mobilization which includes on call responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications

Specialist l:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; in lieu of degree, 4+ years’ experience in outage or work management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Project management skills and ability to provide effective formal management presentations of strategic and operational business issues.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills and ability to identify creative solutions to complex and abstract issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree required with 1.5 years of outage or work management systems experience; in lieu of degree, 5.5 years’ experience in outage or work management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Project management skills and ability to provide effective formal management presentations of strategic and operational business issues.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills and ability to identify creative solutions to complex and abstract issues
  • Bachelor’s degree required with 4 years of outage or work management systems experience; in lieu of degree, 8 years’ experience in outage or work management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Project management skills and ability to provide effective formal management presentations of strategic and operational business issues.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills and ability to identify creative solutions to complex and abstract issues.

This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with OMS/ADMS, ARCOS, PCAD, IFS
  • Previous training experience.
  • Previous control center or dispatching experience.

Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68

Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
