SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The NICU Nursing Quality Specialist is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of systems that support nursing quality initiatives within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Serving as the clinical liaison between the NICU, the Department of Nursing, and Quality and Regulatory departments, the QNS manages the development and promotion of quality improvement activities, clinical research, Magnet-related projects, regulatory compliance, and outcomes reporting to support excellence in NICU patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum three (3) years NICU experience.
  • 3 years clinical experience with demonstrated success in quality initiatives required.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification in Healthcare Quality (e.g.; CPHQ).
