Job summary

Franklin Templeton Investments is seeking a Specialist, Middle Office Client Services in New York City. This role ties together Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, and custodians to manage daily client portfolios and cash activity.

You will monitor cash, resolve issues, and support settlement while delivering high service levels to institutional clients. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in investment operations and strong knowledge of fixed income.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in investment operations, middle office, cash management, or client services.
  • Working knowledge of fixed income products (Treasuries, corporate bonds, MBS, EM debt, munis, high yield).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to build inter-group relationships.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cash reconciliations for fixed income portfolios with external custodians.
  • Monitor daily cash balances and communicate projected cash positions to PMs and traders.
  • Coordinate cash movements and ensure timely communication with internal teams and counterparties.
  • Investigate cash breaks and reconciliation discrepancies and resolve operational issues.
  • Serve as liaison between Trading, PM, Operations, and custodians to resolve issues.
  • Support trade settlements and ensure accurate cash-related processing.
  • Maintain relationships with internal partners and external service providers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects to boost efficiency.
