Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations (where certification may be required), and electrical safety inspections on imaging and related equipment per established standards.
2. Perform major repairs by replacing defective components, readjusting components to manufacturer specifications using appropriate tools and measuring instruments. Certification may be required.
3. Assist with diagnostic imaging cross-training of BMET Technicians.
4. Consult with manufacturer's representatives and equipment operators to resolve issues.
5. Provide emergency on-call services.
6. Research and order repair parts within budget constraints.
7. Maintain Quality Assurance records and reports for compliance.
8. Document significant asset-related actions according to department practices.
9. Capable of performing all duties of a BMET III.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Associate's degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or military training.
2. At least five years of experience with imaging equipment or related fields.
3. Minimum of five years repairing radiology and biomedical equipment.
4. Knowledge in modalities like radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath lab, linear accelerators, etc.
5. Certification (CRES) in these modalities is preferred.
6. Strong communication and customer service skills.
7. Willingness to serve on-call as required.
8. Willing to serve as a technical resource in areas of specialty or certification.
