Job summary

BNY Mellon seeks a Specialist Fund Operations to join the Private Equity Team in New York, NY. The role focuses on accounting services for assigned funds, NAV calculation, expense allocation, and reporting to clients.

You will also contribute to service improvements and supervise junior staff in complex fund operations. The position involves guiding reconciliations, reviewing methodology, and interacting with clients to resolve fund-related questions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.
• Ability to provide guidance to less experienced team members and potentially manage staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accounting services on behalf of assigned clients and moderately complex funds including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports.
• Perform complex Fund/Client Accounting responsibilities to drive service improvements, targeting efficiencies, and specialist review functions.
• Provide input into methodologies and review the work of more junior team members.
• Guide and review work related to cash and asset reconciliations for complex accounts or transactions, resolving reconciliation issues for atypical transactions.
• Draft and review reports for clients regarding the performance of complex funds.
• Regularly interact with clients to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes.
• Assist in evaluating GAAP and IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on fund accounting practices.
