Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Paralegal Certificate, Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in foreclosure litigation or related legal field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of litigated and contested foreclosure cases per deadlines.
  • Draft, review, and file motions, pleadings, and affidavits under attorney direction.
  • Monitor court deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Assist attorneys with case files, gather documentation, and support trial prep.
  • Coordinate electronic and physical court filings for compliance.
  • Communicate with clients to provide status updates and address inquiries.
  • Collaborate with Managers, Supervisors, and other Specialists to ensure workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, client guidelines, and regulations; escalate issues.
  • Generate case status reports and related documents for attorneys and management.
  • Identify workflow improvement opportunities and suggest enhancements.
  • Assist in training new team members on litigated foreclosure matters.

Position Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Florida Foreclosure Litigation Specialist. This will be a remote position.

The Specialist – Foreclosure Litigation (FL) is responsible for supporting the litigation and contested aspects of the foreclosure process. This role focuses on handling complex and contested matters, ensuring accurate preparation and timely filing of court documents while meeting critical deadlines. The Specialist works closely with attorneys, Managers, and Supervisors to ensure compliance with client, court, and regulatory requirements. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and an ability to manage time-sensitive tasks are essential for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Case Management: Manage a portfolio of litigated and contested foreclosure cases, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in compliance with court-imposed deadlines.
  • Document Preparation: Draft, review, and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and affidavits under the direction of attorneys. Ensure all documents meet court, state, and client standards.
  • Deadline Management: Monitor and track key court-imposed deadlines and ensure timely completion of all associated tasks to avoid delays or sanctions.
  • Attorney Support: Work closely with attorneys to prepare case files, gather supporting documentation, and assist in trial preparation or hearings as necessary.
  • Court Filings: Coordinate and manage electronic and physical filings with courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with jurisdictional rules.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients to provide status updates, address inquiries, and respond to escalations related to litigated matters.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including Managers, Supervisors, and other Specialists, to ensure effective workflow and case progression.
  • Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all activities adhere to court rules, client guidelines, and regulatory requirements; promptly elevate potential issues.
  • Reporting: Generate case status reports and other necessary documentation for attorneys and management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving workflow efficiency and recommend process enhancements.
  • Training Support: Assist in training new team members by sharing knowledge and best practices related to litigated foreclosure matters.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Paralegal Certificate, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in foreclosure litigation, contested matters, or a related legal field.
Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of foreclosure litigation processes and legal terminology.
  • Familiarity with court rules and procedures for multiple jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of state-specific foreclosure requirements and regulations.
Skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and case management systems.
  • Ability to draft and file legal documents accurately and promptly.
Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple contested cases simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
