Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Specialist, Field Engineering in the Southeast Region to oversee and manage operational aspects of various projects across programs, including site acquisition, leasing, due diligence, zoning, construction services, utility coordination, architectural and engineering services, and permitting.

The successful candidate will work independently and with teams, bringing experience in field telecommunications/wireless site deployments and RF systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or graduate degree with 2 years experience; in lieu of a degree, 8 years related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
• Travel up to 75% with weekends and nights possible.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex projects through lifecycle: site acquisition, leasing, due diligence, zoning, construction services, utility coordination, architectural/engineering services, permitting.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or with teams to identify high-quality solutions.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to achieve business objectives and meet deadlines.
• Develop Statements of Work for subcontractors and ensure accurate tracking, invoicing, and closeout.

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity within a business savvy organization with tremendous individual growth potential. As the SMS Business Area portfolio continues to grow, the position will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operational aspects of various designated projects and tasks throughout the different programs, as well as performing additional duties that may be assigned to support the implementation team.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for oversight of complex technical project(s) through the life-cycle phases of implementation including but not limited to site acquisition, leasing, due diligence, zoning, construction services, utility coordination, architectural and engineering services, and permitting.
• Self-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high quality solutions.
• Experience in field telecommunications/wireless site deployments and technical components.
• Fundamental knowledge of RF system configurations and testing.
• Awareness of LEC telco requirements and electric utility service process.
• Perform comprehensive equipment component checkout and emergency generator startup upon successful construction installation.
• Interact within a collaborative work environment with the internal and external team member to achieve business objectives
• Solve complex problems for issue resolution; prioritize tasks to meet business requirements and deadlines.
• Interacts withinternal team members, customers and partners on site deployment matters
• Assists with special projects and tasks from functional areas that support the S&AS Business Area
• Develop Statements of Work for subcontractors. Work with engineering staff to develop the appropriate set of requirements associated with the SOW.
• Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system, invoiced and closed with complete accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
• Travel (up to 75%) is expected in association with this position, weekends and nights possible.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in FL are is $67,000 - $124,000 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
