Job summary

Magna Steyr in Mesa, AZ seeks an experienced EHS professional to strengthen workplace safety and regulatory compliance across manufacturing operations. You will conduct audits, lead incident investigations, and drive environmental programs aligned with OSHA, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 frameworks.

You will develop training, manage records, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to reduce risk and promote a proactive safety culture within a diverse team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, incident investigations, risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental compliance programs.
• Experience with LOTO, machine guarding, powered industrial trucks, hazard communication, PPE, and emergency response programs.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001; OSHA 30, ASP, CSP, CHMM, or related certifications preferred.
• Strong communication, data analysis, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and strengthen workplace safety programs by audits, risk assessments, safety inspections, and promoting OSHA compliance.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective actions by identifying root causes, implementing preventive measures, tracking action items, and analyzing trends to reduce workplace injuries and environmental incidents.
• Ensure environmental compliance and sustainability through management of hazardous materials, waste programs, spill prevention, environmental records, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver EHS training and employee engagement programs to build safety awareness, enhance compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization.
• Support regulatory compliance, audits, and documentation by maintaining EHS records, managing training and permit requirements, supporting OSHA recordkeeping, and coordinating internal and external audits.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors to identify and mitigate risks, support new equipment and facility projects, and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
