Job summary

Lumicera Health Services in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Specialist, Drug Procurement to manage daily inventory procurement and reconciliation with primary and secondary wholesalers, ensuring timely availability of medications and supplies to support dispensing operations.

You will analyze market trends, optimize purchasing costs, manage supplier relationships, and monitor contracts to improve COGS and profitability while adapting to changing market conditions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, supply chain, or related field, or relevant experience.
1-2 years of healthcare experience in inventory management or procurement.
Proficient with PC, spreadsheets, and MS Office applications.
Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
Ability to interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.

Responsibilities

Execute daily purchasing tasks including order placement, tracking and inventory management.
Maintain and develop accurate records of all purchasing transactions (trackers / dashboards).
Reconcile invoices against inventory receipt to identify shortages or overages.
Reconciliation of purchase orders in inventory management system to ensure accurate pricing.
Monitor vendor agreements for compliance with generic commitments.
Ensure availability of inventory to meet operations needs.
Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers.
Utilise data analytics to identify cost savings and process improvements.
Refine procurement strategies to meet changing business needs and market conditions.
Track pull through and align inventory with sales forecasts.
Analyze market trends to inform purchasing decisions and anticipate disruptions.
Monitor supplier performance and market conditions to identify risks and opportunities.
Contribute to efficiency goals and support proposal/presentation development activities.
Other duties as assigned.

Overview

Lumicera Health Services is seeking a Specialist, Drug Procurement to join our team!

The Specialist, Drug Procurement has responsibility for day-to-day procurement and reconciliation of pharmacy inventory from primary and secondary wholesale partners across Lumicera and its affiliates. This includes the procurement of supplies, pumps and other materials needed to support the overall dispensing and administration of medications.

Successfully satisfy the needs of Lumicera and its partners through necessary inventory management and procurement support that result in improved COGS and profitability through standardized and optimal procurement practices. This position is responsible for the accurate accounting of inventory and supports in troubleshooting inventory related issues such as expiring product, product shortages, and incorrect acquisition cost.

Responsibilities

How do I make an impact on my team?

Execute daily purchasing tasks including order placement, tracking and inventory management.
Maintain and develop as needed, accurate and up-to-date records of all purchasing transactions (trackers / dashboards).
Reconcile invoices against inventory receipt to identify and resolve shortages or overages within an order.
Reconciliation of purchase orders entered into inventory management system against invoices to ensure accurate pricing is reflected.
Monitor primary and secondary vendor agreements for compliance with generic compliance and minimum volume commitments.
Ensure / communicate timely availability of inventory to meet operations team requirements.
Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers.
Utilise data analytics to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Continuously evaluate and refine procurement strategies to meet changing business needs and market conditions.
Track pull through and ensure alignment between inventory levels and sales forecasts.
Analyze market trends to inform purchasing decisions and anticipate potential supply chain disruptions.
Monitor supplier performance and market conditions to identify risks and opportunities.
Contribute to the department goal of improved efficiency and effectiveness, including the capture of strategic client opportunities using approved reference resources that support proposal and presentation development activities.

Qualifications

What our team expects from you?

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, supply chain, or related field or relevant experience within Medication Inventory management and procurement preferred
1-2 years of experience within a healthcare setting participating or managing inventory required
Experience in proficient utilisation of PC in both spreadsheet and word processing desktop environment including software applications including Microsoft products
Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
