As a Data Governance Advisor, you’ll ensure the quality, reliability, security, efficiency, and accuracy of data through the data lifecycle to enable effective reporting and analytics for better and faster decision‑making. You’ll ensure adherence to data governance policy, standards and processes including taxonomy, data quality, efficiencies, and usage. Successful candidates have a passion for improving integrity and usability of data assets, resolving data quality issues, creating data definitions, driving consistency in sourcing data and defining critical data elements and collaborating with influencing others to consistently implement data governance policies, processes, and standards.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director Data Leader.
Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, business, statistics, math, a related field or comparable experience and education strongly preferred. Graduate studies in business, statistics, math, computer science or a related field are a plus.
Certifications are not required but encouraged.
Five years of relevant experience with data‑centric, data governance, data management standards or practices. Experience in use and interpretation of metrics. Experience in analytically intense, data‑intense or data integration project preferred. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Data application, practices and benchmark knowledge. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships, facilitate meetings and influence others. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
