Job summary

Lincoln Financial is hiring a Specialist, Data Analytics to join the Workplace Solutions Data Analytics Management team. You will develop reporting, analytics, and dashboards to drive business decisions and support leadership insights.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in data and analytics with SQL, Tableau, and Python/R; collaborate with partners, ensure data integrity, and build semantic layers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a technical role within data and analytics.
  • 1–3 years of experience in SQL programming (e.g. MSSQL, Oracle, or similar), data architecture design and development, and data modeling.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Tableau development or similar tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik, MicroStrategy, or similar)
  • 0–2 years of experience in statistical analysis including R, Python, or similar language/tools.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers, and colleagues).
  • Ability to develop creative design centric and collaborative approaches.
  • Ability to work with data from multiple systems, including relational databases and data warehouses.

Responsibilities

  • Develops analytical solutions using data, analytics, and reporting to deliver insights to business stakeholders.
  • Creates dashboards & scorecards utilizing existing and newly developed metrics to monitor business performance and tactical initiatives
  • Collaborates with business partners and the broader analytics organization to lead value-driven data insights aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Writes SQL to structure and query data for analysis and reporting
  • Ensures data integrity within dashboards and reports and develops procedures for increasing the quality and accuracy of information from multiple data sources.
  • Maintains an understanding of how the data contained in various systems are utilized and marries various aspects of the data into a usable format to support decision making.
  • Designs, builds, and tests semantic layers, dashboards, reports, and metrics to meet business needs by transforming data into meaningful information.

Background Details
Workplace Solutions Data Analytics Management is a growing team that is focused on the sourcing, development, maintenance, and delivery of data and reporting/analytics solutions to drive our employer and employee benefit and retirement teams.

In the Specialist, Data Analytics role you will be a member of an experienced team providing reporting, data, and analytics solutions. You will drive automation and efficiency as you develop reporting solutions that drive business decisions and inform leadership on insights. You will act as a resource to internal/external stakeholders and identify complex data patterns and trends.

What you’ll be doing

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical role within data and analytics.
  • 1-3 years of experience in SQL programming (e.g. MSSQL, Oracle, or similar), data architecture design and development, and data modeling.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Tableau development or similar tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik, MicroStrategy, or similar)
  • 0-2 years of experience in statistical analysis including R, Python, or similar language/tools.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers, and colleagues);
  • Ability to develop creative design centric and collaborative approaches.
  • Ability to work with data from multiple systems, including both relational databases, data warehouses, and generate insights and knowledge for decision making.
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience in group benefits, retirement plan, or financial services.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend processes improvements impacting strategic initiatives and customer growth.

  • Ability to find common ground and gain collaboration among senior/executive management, colleagues, and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.

The pay range for this position is $53,500 – $96,300 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
