Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Opportunity Our business — the stories we help tell, the audiences we entertain, the talent we invest in — is as much a story as the entertainment we bring to audiences around the world. We're looking for someone who can help us tell Netflix's corporate story, and who has the judgment to protect it when put to the test.

If that sounds like you, we have an opportunity on our growing communications team.

The Role The Specialist, Corporate Communications will be a member of the Corporate Communications team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications. This role is based out of our Los Angeles office. This is a high-impact role for someone who can operate seamlessly between the proactive and reactive: helping shape narratives around some of the business's highest-profile moments, while also protecting the company's reputation when issues arise. You'll partner closely with Finance, Legal, Content Operations and Creative Talent Development teams and their business leaders, and you'll play a growing role in how our senior leadership shows up publicly.

Responsibilities
  • Work on strategic and narrative storytelling across key corporate areas, including quarterly earnings, strategic partnerships and investments, talent development, and corporate innovation.
  • Partner with Finance and senior leaders to shape and land the Netflix corporate story with financial, business, and trade media.
  • Work closely with regional comms teams around the world to shape the global corporate narrative and ensure it translates and localizes effectively across markets.
  • Work on issues management efforts that protect Netflix's brand and reputation, including matters related to litigation and other corporate issues.
  • Build and manage executive engagement programs for senior leadership, including speaking engagements and media opportunities across traditional and new media, to help establish our executives as thought leaders in the industry.
  • Proactively identify, map, and pre-empt issues that protect the Netflix brand.
  • Write and shape key corporate communications materials, including executive talking points, statements, and briefing documents.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with business, financial, and trade media, as well as key industry opinion formers.
  • Confidence in speaking with journalists and serving as an external spokesperson for the company.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in communications at a high-profile technology or entertainment company; financial communications agency experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing crisis or issues communications, including situations involving litigation or other sensitive corporate matters.
  • Skilled storyteller who can craft narratives and boil down complex financial, legal, or business concepts into clear, compelling messaging for media and executives.
  • Experience building or supporting executive visibility programs — speaking engagements, bylines, podcasts, or other new media formats — for senior leaders.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with various stakeholders, with the judgment to know when and how to elevate.
  • Strong track record of managing a high volume of complex, sensitive projects with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Clear, concise communicator, written and verbal, who is able to convey complex ideas simply.
  • Meticulous organizational skills and able to effectively time management under pressure.
  • Curious about how AI can be used to operationalize and sharpen our communications work, from research and drafting to media measurement.
  • A point of view, with the confidence to offer a unique perspective and push back when needed.
