Position Overview

Provide specialist-level clinical care in O&G to a regional referral centre, including support to level 2 and 3 sites that refer care to the regional centre. As part of a multidisciplinary team, provide specialist medical services to patients at Bunbury Hospital and other South West hospitals as necessary to support appropriate service delivery.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care to patients as a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
• Actively include patients and their families in decision-making regarding their care.
• Attend to patients promptly when requested by medical or nursing staff.
• Perform procedures and operations within your scope of practice.
• Conduct outpatient clinics in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Bunbury Hospital and other regional sites.
• Support all members of the multidisciplinary team caring for patients, including GP Obstetricians and Midwives, including requests for support around the region.
• Ensure communication with General Practitioners via discharge summaries, outpatient letters, and phone calls is completed promptly.

This position is within the largest country health system in Australia, comprising seven regions with a strong network of faculties across rural and remote WA. The core objective is to provide quality, accessible health services to residents and visitors of country WA.
