Job summary

Location: Kanab, Utah

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is between $15.80 - $18.00 per hour + great benefits!

Hours: Thursday- Sunday 8am-7pm

Position Summary:

Work closely with Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Senior Technicians, Team Leader, and other Clinic staff to support the needs of the facility and clients as seen by the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Clinic. Position is responsible for the routine and spontaneous tasks required to maintain the cleanliness and sanitary condition of the clinic facility and grounds. If needed: facilitate the comfort, cleanliness and care of the animals in the clinical environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate professionally to Clients, Veterinary staff, Management and other Sanctuary departments regarding job responsibilities.
  • Maintain the ability to follow policies and procedures set by the Medical Director and Clinic Manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient status/treatment, client information and other sensitive clinic operations.
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness & visual organization of the clinic and grounds.
  • Support pharmacy supervisor
  • Walk and socialize clinic patients as instructed per medical orders.
  • Clean all work areas and appropriately sanitize the clinic and grounds (e.g. mop and Accel floors, collect trash/recycling, clean restrooms).
  • Clean/stock/sanitize common areas and employee offices/workspaces according to daily/weekly schedule.
  • Process surgical and general laundry daily, based on standard medical protocols.
  • Manage recycling waste.
  • Organize and maintain inventory for all housekeeping in an efficient manner.
  • Cover front desk as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
  • Work requires continual attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Demonstrates personal accountability to ensure that all responsibilities are completed effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates approachability when dealing with clients and coworkers. Experience in interacting with the general public (customer service) preferred.
Physical & Other Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driver's license and qualify for Best Friends insurance.
  • Must be able to safely lift animals, food, garbage bags, etc., (approx. up to 40-60 pounds).
  • Must be able to stand as well as bend for extended periods of time.
