Job summary

Pathways LA is seeking a Specialist, CDE to support families and childcare providers, implementing CDE programs and providing case management within the Child Development Education team.

The role requires organization, customer focus, and experience in child development or R&R/Alternative Payment programs. Bilingual Russian/Armenian is strongly preferred, with a hybrid work model in Downtown LA.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implement Pathways LA’s Child Development Education programs (Stage 2, Stage 3, Alternative Payment, Berendo Program).

SPECIALIST, CDE

Bilingual proficiency in Russian and/or Armenian is strongly preferred.

With over 45 years in service, Pathways LA has become the leading agency for a multi-year, county-wide initiative to increase the service of childcare needs. Our passionate and dedicated team has great pride in serving families and early childhood educators throughout Metro LA. Our team includes directors, case specialists, child development coordinators, coaches and teachers & staff for our West Hollywood Preschool and Pathways LA Child Development Center.

• Location: Downtown, Los Angeles
• Schedule: Monday–Friday | 37.5 hours per week | Hybrid – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote
• Starting Rate: $21–$23 per hour, depending on experience and education plus a comprehensive benefits package
• Start Date: Immediately

About The Role

The Specialist, CDE is responsible for implementing the functions of Pathways LA’s Child Development Education programs, including Stage 2, Stage 3, Alternative Payment, and Berendo Program. The position provides case management support to parents, works directly with participating childcare providers, and assists with selected fiscal responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in child development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
• Two years of direct experience working in a Resource & Referral (R&R) or Alternative Payment Program.
• Knowledge and experience with Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Network experience.

Language Skills — Strongly Preferred

Bilingual proficiency in Russian and/or Armenian is strongly preferred, with the ability to communicate effectively with families and childcare providers from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
