Job summary

Delta Air Lines, Inc. is seeking a Specialist in Network Scheduling to help build the future schedule. You will balance commercial and operational constraints to optimally deploy Delta’s aircraft assets to maximize profitability.

You will coordinate the design of Delta's narrowbody flight schedule, collaborate with the Route Planning team, and mentor newer colleagues while operating within fleet, crew, and station constraints.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design and development of Delta's narrowbody flight schedule
• Identify solutions and evaluate tradeoffs for scheduling problems
• Support training and development of new and junior team members
• Collaborate with Route Planning to meet commercial goals within fleet/crew limits
• Anticipate Planner needs and seek input when adjusting schedules
• Ensure hub connectivity, optimal patterns, and adherence to constraints
• Navigate ambiguity and decide when to apply tradeoffs
• Foster cross-group collaboration across Network, Revenue Management, TechOps, Flight Ops, and Integrated Ops Planning

As a Specialist in Network Scheduling, you will have the opportunity to build the future schedule that Delta flies. You will balance tradeoffs between commercial and operational constraints to optimally deploy Delta’s airplane assets to maximize the profitability of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the design and development of Delta's narrowbody flight schedule
• Serve as a scheduling expert able to identify possible solutions to all problems and understand the tradeoffs of each
• Assist with training and development of new and less senior team members
• Collaborate with the Route Planning team to achieve commercial objectives while working in the confines of limited fleet, crew, and station resources
• Anticipate Route Planner needs and seek Planner input proactively when adjusting the schedule
• Ensure hub bank connectivity, optimal patterns, and compliance with operational standards, such as curfews, slots, gate constraints, crew duty periods, and maintenance requirements
• Feel comfortable with ambiguity, understanding what tradeoffs to make and when to make them
• Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication across multiple groups in the organization, including Network, Revenue Management, TechOps, Flight Ops, Integrated Ops Planning, and Airport Customer Service
