Job description

About Special Warfare Combat Crewman (SWCC): They are specially trained to operate on and around rivers and coastal regions worldwide. Wielding extreme firepower and a deadly skill set, SWCC operators support special warfare/special operations missions, as well as conduct direct action and special reconnaissance missions.

As a SWCC, you may:

  1. Insert and extract SEALs and other Special Operations personnel from various Naval Surface Warfare vessels.
  2. Collect important data about enemy military installations and shipping traffic in coastal areas.
  3. Assist other military and civilian law enforcement agencies.

Qualifications and Requirements: No college degree is required, but the standards of qualification demand significant mental and physical fortitude. For those who qualify, ongoing training and challenges are part of the job.

To qualify for SWCC training, you must:

  • Meet eyesight requirements: 20/40 best eye; 20/70 worst eye; correctable to 20/25; no color blindness.
  • Achieve a minimum ASVAB score: AR+VE=103, MC=51.
  • Be 30 years of age or younger.
  • Be a U.S. citizen eligible for security clearance.

The Navy Physical Screening Test (PST) requirements are outlined below. Note: For NSW/NSO positions, higher PST scores are expected.
