Kalispel Tribe is seeking a Special Tribal Prosecutor and SAUSA to prosecute targeted federal crimes on the Kalispel, Spokane, and Colville Reservations. The role involves tribal and federal court work, law enforcement collaboration, and overseeing all stages of litigation.

Requires Juris Doctorate, WA license in good standing, and 3+ years in felony litigation. Travel within the region is expected, with strong emphasis on ethics and interagency coordination.

Qualifications

• Requires Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to Practice Law in Washington in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience litigating felony cases.
• Preferred experience with Tribal in-house work and Federal Indian Law.
• Strong courtroom, research and written advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute federal and tribal crimes on Kalispel, Spokane, and Colville Reservations.
• Represent in Kalispel Tribal Court and U.S. District Court; coordinate with USAO.
• Advise and train federal and tribal law enforcement; interview witnesses.
• Prepare pleadings, charging documents, briefs, and sentencing memoranda.
• Participate in MDT meetings and handle all stages of litigation.
