Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a dedicated Transporter to maintain clear hallways and move equipment with care. You will communicate with patients and staff, assist in safe patient transfers, and ensure efficient movement of patients using stretchers and wheelchairs.

The role requires a High School diploma (preferred), CPR certification, and the ability to learn and use transportation software and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred].
• 1+ year public contact in a medical setting [Preferred].
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required].
• Driver's License (DL) [Preferred].

Responsibilities

• Move unused equipment to designated storage areas to keep hallways clear.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Handle and deliver medical equipment and supplies safely.
• Assist in safe transfers of patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Transport patient-related items efficiently and document details in the Transportation system.

Job Description:

Maintains clear hallways by moving unused equipment to designated storage areas. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Ensures the proper handling and delivery of medical equipment and supplies. Participates in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge. Other duties as assigned. Assists in the safe transfers of patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair. Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs. Transports patient-related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment efficiently. Accurately records transport details and reports necessary information using the Transportation system.

• Ability to follow patient identification/verification process prior to transporting all patients.

Education:
