Job summary

MSNW is currently seeking a part-time floor care technician to join our Portland-area team. The role involves cleaning and maintaining floors through stripping, waxing, buffing, grout cleaning, burnishing, and carpet care, ensuring high-quality results for commercial facilities in the region.

Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, be able to work Wed-Sun, and demonstrate strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum five 1 year floor care experience
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work independently as needed
• Ability to lead others and train staff
• Must pass company background check and city requirements
• Physical ability for general tasks
• Ability to interact with customers and employees

Responsibilities

• Stripping & waxing, buffing floors, grout cleaning, burnishing, carpet cleaning, etc.
• Assist management in daily operation of contract services delivered to customers.
• Orientate in safe operation of equipment and floor care processes.
• Assist with job training for staff.
• Conduct quality checks inspections as directed by Management.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure it functions properly.
• Report worn or broken equipment to supervisor.
• Manage keys, combinations, and equipment/assets.
• Secure building when work is complete.
• Assist with establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers.
• Respond to customer complaints.

Requirements

This position requires a valid driver license and insurable driving record.

Schedule: Part time, Wed - Sun

Pay Rate: $24.14 per hour

Expected duties

• Stripping & waxing, buffing floors, grout cleaning, burnishing of floors, carpet cleaning, etc.
• Assist management in the daily operation of specific contract services delivered to customers in a timely and quality manner.
• Orientate in the safe and proper operation of equipment and floor care processes as necessary.
• Assist with job training for staff.
• Conduct quality checks inspections as directed by Management.
• Physically perform all related duties of floor care in accordance with company policies and/or manufacturer’s recommended maintenance requirements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repair of equipment as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure it functions properly.
• Promptly report worn and broken equipment to supervisor.
• Responsible for keys, combinations, and equipment and/or asset control.
• Responsible for securing building when work is complete.
• Assist with establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with customers.
• Respond to customer complaints.

Job Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of five 1 year floor care experience.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
• Must have the ability to lead others in the field as well as train staff on proper cleaning techniques.
• Must be able to pass company background check screening and city government requirements
• Must be physically able to perform general tasks.
• Must be able to interact appropriately with customers and employees.

Physical Requirements

• Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling. Mobility and flexibility and ability to climb ladders.
• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
• Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
