Job summary

Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC is seeking a Special Security Officer to evaluate and coordinate security programs with ODNI and other agencies to meet evolving requirements and mission needs.

You will ensure compliance with laws and policies governing sensitive information and serve as the primary liaison for classified IT and communications systems, including SIPRNet, JWICS, VTC, and VoIP within the SCIF.

Qualifications

• Foreign education: if education from foreign colleges/universities is used to meet qualification requirements, evaluation by a private organization is required or credit given for courses at U.S. institutions.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and security protocols governing the receipt, handling, storage, transmission, dissemination, and safeguarding of highly sensitive national security and intelligence information.
• Primary liaison for classified information technology and communications systems support, coordinating with network owners to ensure secure operation, maintenance, and availability of Unclassified, SIPRNet, and JWICS systems, including VTC and VoIP within the SCIF.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive oversight program to evaluate OPDIV and STAFFDIV implementation of ICD and IC

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Education

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
