Job summary

Temp-Con, Inc. is seeking a full-time position that involves coordinating and installing sheet metal and duct systems. The role requires candidates with at least 1 year of experience in light commercial sheet metal/HVAC operations.

Qualifications

Position Summary: Work includes all types of sheet metal. Individuals should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other people on the project, including our subcontractors, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Coordinate, install and/or repair sheet metal and/or duct systems.
  • Assist with the assembly and installation of HVAC equipment as necessary.
  • Install hangars or supports for system.
  • Perform field fabrication of sheet metal and/or duct systems and set up the specific task or project schedule. Make adjustments to work sequences to meet construction schedules.
  • Manage materials to ensure timely completion of the work scheduled. Ensure optimal material consumption.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to contract and specification.
  • Read blueprints and interpret specifications.
  • Keep equipment in good working order and insure proper and timely maintenance is performed on equipment.
  • Ensure the needs of general contractors, owners, and other customers as well as entrusted employees are met.
  • Serve as a coach by monitoring and mentoring Apprentices and laborers with production and quality workmanship.
  • Strengthen skills to encourage improvement in other sheet metal workers. Emphasize commitment to continually improve company procedures and processes in the best interests of the company.
  • Follow all OSHA and TPMC standards for safety. Keep work area clear of unnecessary clutter and perform routine clean‑up as needed.
  • Offload deliveries and load trucks at job sites.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 1+ year light commercial experience in sheet metal/HVAC field operations.
Job Skills
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of general sheet metal and HVAC installation.
  • Ability to fabricate offsets.
  • Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
  • Ability to do basic take‑offs.
  • Ability to install equipment.
  • Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
  • High School or GED equivalent.
Physical Requirements
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
  • Able to work long hours on feet.
  • Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.
  • Able to perform shift work.
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
Special Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must provide their own basic hand tools.
  • Able to operate heavy machinery.
  • OSHA 10 certified.
