Job summary

Specialty Rx, Inc. is seeking a licensed pharmacist in Florida to join our hospital/long-term care focused team in Orlando. You will review medication orders for appropriateness, ensure correct dispensing, and support medication safety.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication. Shift 2:30pm-11:00pm with rotating weekends/holidays; benefits include health and vision insurance, 401K, paid time off, and employee assistance

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in Florida.
  • Long Term Care experience preferred.
  • Experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Framework / ECM software knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration
  • Ensure that dispense medicines are correctly supplied and labeled
  • Review medications & narcotics for automated dispensing machine
  • Works clarifications on orders and follow-ups
  • Obtain emergency CII verbals from physicians
  • Coordinates emergency kits and checks cassettes for the Omnicell machine
  • Perform “on-call” duties when required
  • Complete any other task assigned by the Pharmacist in Charge
