B&I Contractors, Inc. is Florida’s fastest growing MEP contractor seeking an experienced Special Projects Foreman to supervise and coordinate HVAC field crews on large-scale projects in Tampa, FL.

The role emphasizes interpretation of drawings, safety, and schedule adherence while leading a team of skilled tradespeople. We offer NCCER-certified training, employer-paid health insurance, vacation and sick time, wellness reimbursement, and ESOP with a 401(k) plan and Roth IRA options.

Qualifications

• Completion of apprenticeship program and journeyman experience.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Experience interpreting specs, blueprints, submittals and job orders.
• Pipe welding experience a plus.

Responsabilités

• Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Maintain time records and perform a variety of duties as assigned and which may change often.

ROLE SUMMARY

Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned trainee in the installation of HVAC products and equipment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned tradesman.
• Interpret specification, blueprints, submittals and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
• Direct assemblies and installations at job sites.
• Order material, equipment and tools as needed to maintain efficient use of labor resource.
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Understand shop math; work skillfully with tools, PVCs, etc., and machines.
• Pipe Welding experience a plus
• Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches or blueprints.
• Work within precise limits and standards; perform a variety of duties which often change.
• Rate information using measurable standards.
• Completion of apprenticeship program and appropriate journeyman experience.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with Planning Calendars.
• This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
