Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace division in Windsor Locks, CT is seeking an onsite manufacturing worker to join our plating and finishing operations on the 2nd shift. You will prepare parts for plating, operate lines, paint, heat treat and inspect using precision gauges and nondestructive testing methods.

The role emphasizes strict adherence to safety and quality standards, with mandatory training and progression to independent work after a four-month ramp-up.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or GED) required.
• Experience with painting in aerospace or automotive settings.
• Experience with electroplating.
• US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for plating.
• Operate plating line equipment.
• Prepare and paint parts.
• Operate vapor, sand or dry blasting machines to prepare parts for production.
• Operate ovens, furnaces and induction machines to heat treat parts.
• Use gauges such as micrometers, verniers and hardness testers to make measurements and perform hardness checks.
• Perform various non-destructive test operations including magnetic particle inspection, fluorescent penetrant inspection, dye check and eddy current inspection.
• Move parts and materials to designated locations.
• Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized.
• Instruct fellow employees in proper performance of duties.
• 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:30 pm – 12:00 am
