Job summary

City of Hope Orange County in Irvine seeks a Special Procedures Technologist – Interventional Radiology on 8-hour evening shifts. You will assist radiologists and physicians, operate angiographic imaging equipment, and provide sterile procedure support to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Requires CRT, ARRT, CPR, AMA-approved school, and 2 years diagnostic radiology experience; on-call may be required; flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
  • 2 years in Diagnostic radiology.
  • AMA approved school of Diagnostic Radiologic Technology.
  • CRT (Radiography and Fluoroscopy).
  • ARRT.
  • CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures, both general and within designated specialties.
  • Prepare room and equipment for patient.
  • Assist the radiologist, cardiologist, and/or clinician during radiologic procedures, including invasive and non‑invasive studies.
  • Prepare reagents following standard formulas and procedures.
  • Observe patient for any unusual reactions or events, before, during and after procedure. Take appropriate action following established guidelines.
  • Evaluate exam for technical quality and completeness and submit for review via PACS system.
  • Prepare the patient, explains the procedure, and ensures patient’s cooperation during the examination.

As a Special Procedures Technologist, you will assist radiologists and physicians in performing invasive and interventional radiologic procedures. This role involves operating advanced angiographic and interventional imaging equipment and providing sterile procedure support to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care.

Additional Note: This position requires flexibility to accommodate varying patient needs. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call responsibilities and mandatory overtime may also be necessary.

As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Perform radiographic procedures, both general and within designated specialties.
  • Prepare room and equipment for patient.
  • Assist the radiologist, cardiologist, and/or clinician during radiologic procedures, including invasive and non‑invasive studies.
  • Prepare reagents following standard formulas and procedures.
