Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center to support interventional imaging workflows. You will prepare rooms, review orders, set up sterile supplies, and operate angiographic systems to produce high-quality diagnostic and interventional images.

The role emphasizes patient safety, radiation protection, and collaboration with radiologists, nurses, and technologists in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Hold a current New Jersey Radiologic Technologist License.
• Maintain current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• ARRT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms, imaging systems, and workstations for interventional procedures.
• Review physician orders, prior imaging, and patient records for accuracy.
• Set up sterile trays and interventional supplies including catheters and guidewires.
• Operate angiographic equipment to obtain high-quality images.
• Monitor patient safety and radiation protection throughout procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist interventional team as needed.
• Assist with image processing and documentation in RIS.
