Special Procedures Technologist I-Full-time/Days

Join us at Houston Methodist as a Special Procedures Technologist I-Full-time/Days. This role involves performing routine special procedure exams, diagnostic radiology procedures including X-ray and Fluoroscopy, and supporting Interventional Radiology procedures of moderate complexity using digital radiography and fluoroscopy. The position requires assisting with patient preparation, maintaining sterile techniques, and supporting physicians during invasive procedures. The technologist ensures patient safety, adheres to radiation standards, and provides exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform special procedures and diagnostic radiology exams, including invasive procedures involving contrast media.
• Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring sterile techniques and patient safety.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing clear instructions and explanations.
• Follow safety standards, including radiation safety and infection control, and report near misses or errors.
• Perform equipment quality control and maintenance.
• Document procedures accurately and manage resources efficiently.
• Participate in departmental projects, continuing education, and professional growth activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved education program for radiologic technology.
• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist; IR experience preferred.
• Required certifications: BLS, ARRT-R, and Texas State Licensure (CMRT or CMRT-Temp).
• Preferred certifications: ACLS.
