Job summary

Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, TX is seeking a Special Procedures Technician to assist radiologists with arteriograms and other procedures, and to perform routine radiologic exams across age groups. You will prepare equipment, ensure safety, and support clinical teams in high-stakes imaging.

Requirements include MRT certification, ARRT preferred, and BCLS. The role emphasizes patient care, safety, and continuous education within a leading HCA Healthcare network.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• ARRT registered or registry eligible preferred.
• Texas Department of Health MRT certification required.
• Current BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Selects and operates equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis, selects proper film size or given exam.
• Assists in the use of a variety of equipment or procedure not routinely taught.
• Handles equipment in a responsible, professional manner.
• Transfers and properly positions patients for examinations in order to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications.
• Assists physician during angiographic procedures, working with specialized equipment.
• Demonstrates Customer Service/Service Plus principles and behaviors appropriately.
• Receives verbal orders for examination from a responsible practitioner in keeping with their state license.
• Adheres to prescribed standards for Radiation Safety. Participates in Quality Improvement and Safety Programs.
• Performs a variety of clerical tasks to include; pulling jackets, inputting/editing exams, and completion of requisition prior to setting study to be read.
• Takes advantage of opportunities for continuing education as provided by the department or seminars available for the various specialties, cross-training in specialized areas.
• Ensures appropriate recording of hours worked, adhering to hospital policy.
• Other duties as assigned.
