Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Special Procedures Tech – Interventional Radiology to join our high-volume, trauma-centered team. You will assist radiologists in complex vascular and invasive procedures, operate imaging equipment, and ensure aseptic technique while delivering patient-centered care.

Requires ARRT certification or RCIS/RCES, plus an accredited radiology program and appropriate licensure. On-call coverage and a 30-minute drive radius apply.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or radiology program completion required
  • High School Diploma with relevant experience acceptable
  • ARRT/RCIS/RCES/GMRT certifications upon hire desired
  • BCLS must be current
  • 2+ years vascular or cardiac angiography experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Imaging quality and processing, identifies and initiates quality improvement
  • Explains procedures to patient or guardian prior to exam
  • Performs complex procedures with age-related considerations
  • Assists radiologist with invasive procedures using aseptic technique
  • Transfers images to PACS
  • Fulfills assignments as directed by supervisor

WORK LOCATION: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231. WORK HOURS: Full Time. Days Hours of operation are Monday - Friday. 10-Hour Shifts 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM; On-Call requirements and must live within a 30 minute drive.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Associate Degree, applied science required or
  • Completion of accredited program or radiology technology required or
  • High School Diploma plus 2 years work experience in special procedures required.
  • 1 Year vascular or cardiac angiography Preferred OR
  • 2 Years required with high school diploma Required
  • ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologist upon hire required or
  • RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist upon required or
  • RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist upon hire or
  • GMRT – General Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT upon hire and
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Imaging Quality and Processing:
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and initiates quality improvement.
  • Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam.
  • Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.
  • Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS.
  • Performs assignments deemed necessary by supervisor.
