Work Shift: Day (United States of America)

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000, for 4, 10-hour shifts

Contributes to the Hospital’s mission by assisting radiologists with interventional procedures, requiring sterile technique, to produce specialized imaging. This position impacts quality, safety, and the patient experience both in assisting with special procedures and performing radiologic exams.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Radiologist in performing various interventional procedures.
  • Set up the room, equipment, and patient using sterile technique based on protocol and radiologist’s preferences.
  • Participate as a member of the interventional team to provide optimal patient care from pre- to post-procedure.
  • Maintain documentation about the patient, procedure, and supplies.
  • Greet, assess, educate, and escort patients, making them feel welcomed and comfortable, while ensuring safety and quality checks, including verifying exam orders.
  • Perform exams utilizing ALARA standards (As Low as Reasonably Acceptable).
  • Ensure accurate documentation and appropriate charges for examinations.
  • Store and transmit images and data appropriately in PACS.
  • Keep department records and logs to monitor quality and safety.
  • Educate and inform patients and families throughout their experience.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, utilizing established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, fostering a culture of safety.
  • Respond promptly to supply and equipment issues to ensure optimal operations and maintenance.
  • Transport and assist ambulatory patients as needed.
  • Minimize preventable harm and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Incorporate safety tools into daily practice, reporting near-misses or risks.
  • Coordinate work schedules with the supervisor to ensure adequate staffing.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Completed accredited Radiology Technology Program; preferred: Associate's Degree in Radiology Technology.
  • Experience: At least one year as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with patients and staff.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Required: ARRT registration, Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license or registry eligible, with registration obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Life Support Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).
