UHealth/SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full time Special Procedures Tech 2 with a hire date of September, 2025. Be part of the UHealth Difference.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Verifies the patient’s ID by checking their name and date of birth.
  2. Corroborates patient's clinical history and ensures information is documented and available for use.
  3. Assists with patient interviews before a procedure and documents all relevant information.
  4. Ensures that the attending radiologist obtains the proper informed consent.
  5. Prepares the patient for procedures to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  6. Notifies appropriate person of any change(s) in patients’ status.
  7. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures and strictly practices aseptic technique.
  8. Assists the radiologist throughout procedures with all the necessary supplies.
  9. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
  10. Positions the patient for the examination and obtains good technical quality scout film of the area before starting procedures.
  11. Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure.
  12. Initiates life support measures for patients and assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation during medical emergencies.
  13. Maintains working knowledge of all patient monitoring devices.
  14. Provides patient education in collaboration with other department staff.
  15. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate degree or equivalent

Certification and Licensing: Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
