Zusammenfassung

Nuvance Health Med Practice CT is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional care for a defined patient group and participate in the nursing process with the health care team.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, managing sedation and emergencies, and ensuring accurate documentation. The role emphasizes safety, physiology knowledge, and regular attendance in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or college.
• CT Registered Nurse License required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required or active.

Aufgaben

• Understands patient monitoring, monitoring equipment and emergency equipment.
• Understands medicines, medication administration, medication complications, aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• Utilizes rational protection measures in accordance with Center protocols.
• Obtains an allergy history to evaluate risk factors that may contraindicate intravenous contrast material.
• Identifies early signs of contrast media reactions.
• Administers medications safely and appropriately, including sedation preparation, administration, evaluation and management of complications.
• Understands patient monitoring principles including recognizing and responding to life‑threatening arrhythmias.
• Manages oxygen therapy and airway during resuscitation using available devices.
• Maintains Point of Care Testing equipment and performs testing/quality control.
• Operates and troubleshoots pulsimeter, BP units, defibrillator/cardiac monitor and related QC.
• Models Northwell Health values and maintains consistent attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Summary:

Provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members. Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values. Responsibilities:

• 1. Understands patient monitoring, monitoring equipment and emergency equipment.
• 2. Understands medicines, medication administration, medication complications, aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• 3. Utilizes rational protection measures in accordance with Center protocols.
• 4. Obtains an allergy history to evaluate risk factors that contra‑indicate the use of intravenous contract material.
• 5. Identifies early signs of contrast media reactions.
• 6. Administers medications in a safe and proper manner including all aspects of moderate sedation preparation, administration, evaluation and complications management.
• 7. Understands patient monitoring principles including the ability to recognize and react appropriately to life‑threatening arrhythmias from the cardiac monitor.
• 8. Understands oxygen therapy, manage an airway for resuscitation and manage all available forms of oxygen delivery devices.
• 9. Maintains all forms of Point of Care Testing equipment and the ability to perform testing and/or quality control measures.
• 10. Operates and troubleshoots the pulsimeter, maintains the Non‑invasive Blood Pressure unit, Defibrillator/cardiac monitor and the ability to perform monitoring and/or quality control procedures.
• 11. Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.
• 12. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
• 13. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or college
• CTRegistered Nurse License
• ACLS
• BLS
• Preferred experience in a dialysis access center

Working Conditions:

• Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
• Occupational: Some occupational risk
• Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
• Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
