Job summary

Danbury Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, is seeking an experienced ICU/CCU nurse for night shifts. The role provides professional patient care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process in collaboration with the health care team.

Required: Current CT RN license and BLS. Minimum six months ICU experience or cardio-thoracic ICU, and/or two years in a Stepdown Unit. Location: Danbury, CT. Shift: 7:00pm-7:30am; 36 hours per week; Exempt: No.

• Performs assessments in an ongoing and systematic manner focusing on physiologic, psychological and cognitive status.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care based on nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
• Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and continuous manner.
• Establishes priorities of patient care based on essential needs and available resources.
• Evaluates effectiveness of care and patient progression toward outcomes.
• Identifies patient’s learning needs and implements appropriate measures.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary functions.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary:

Provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members.

Required:

Current State of CT RN license. BLS certification required. Minimum six months of ICU experience, and/or cardio thoracic ICU, and/or 2 years of StepdownUnit experience.

Control Hours: 36.00

Work Shift: 7:00pm-7:30am, weekends and holidays as contracted.
