Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist for the Special Procedures section. You perform invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures, monitor patients, operate x-ray equipment, and assist as scrub, float, and imaging technologist.
You will collaborate with nurses and physicians, prep patients, maintain safety with radiation and contrast, and document care. You also participate in QA activities and ongoing department improvements.

Summary Performs invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures and is responsible for the operation and quality assurance of film processing, patient monitoring and the x-ray equipment. Participates in the daily activities of the section by assisting as a scrub, float, and imaging technologist.
Education and Formal Training:
VI registry eligible individuals will have two (2) years to acquire registry. Failure to gain VI registry within 2 years will result in termination of employment
Work Experience: One year of work experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Physical Requirements: Good hearing, ability to communicate orally, visual acuity, motor coordination and manual dexterity Good physical and mental stamina to perform duties and responsibilities Must have ability to assume awkward positions Must have mobility to respond to emergency situations Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time Must be able to bend and lift 100 lbs with frequent lift/carry objects up to 50 lbs Wears lead lined apron for extended periods of time Work requires moving of equipment and patients, exposure to radiation, and patient contact May be subject to occupational exposure to include skin, eye, mucous membrane or parental contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
