Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Petoskey, MI is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform specialized radiographic procedures under the supervision of a radiologist. You will ensure image quality and patient safety while following policy and procedure guidelines.

The role requires ARRT registration, completion of a Radiologic Technology program, and at least one year of related experience. Work schedule is full-time with daytime hours 10:00 AM–8:30 PM, weekends required, and on-call not applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic diagnostic/interventional procedures following orders and with established policy.
• Educates patients and families regarding the procedure to be performed.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares them for interpretation with accurate documentation.
• Performs equipment quality control and troubleshoots to maintain performance.
• Maintains a safe environment and adheres to radiation safety policies.
• Ensures ethical, legal and professional radiology practices and confidentiality.
• Monitors workflow and maintains supplies to prevent service interruption.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Job description

Under the direction and supervision of a radiologist/physician, performs specialized radiographic procedures. Also performs general diagnostic procedures as required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Performs radiographic diagnostic/interventional special procedures by following and verifying referring provider’s orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
• Educates patients and families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed.
• Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
• Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to radiation safety policies.
• Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
• Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of service.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.
