Job summary

The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a Skilled Radiology Tech to join the CVOR team. You will work with surgeons and patients on vascular procedures using specialized vascular C-arm equipment to obtain accurate images.

You will ensure radiation protection, maintain required documentation, and assist in patient positioning and preparation. Scrub experience with catheters and wires is expected, with opportunities to contribute to a new hybrid room.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited radiologic program with ARRT registration.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in radiologic technology.
  • ARRT registration required; SC Radiation Quality Standards licensure required.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain vascular C-arm equipment to capture correct areas and produce clear images.
  • Apply and maintain radiation protection and safety practices; document procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients for surgery; scrub to assist with catheters, wires, stents, etc.
  • Assist in developing a new hybrid room; be part of the CVOR team with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Training and Education:

Associate’s Degree. Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Minimum of 1 year work experience. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
