Special Police Officer (SPO) - Sinai Hospital

JOB SUMMARY: The LBH Special Police Officer (SPO) will assist with day to day operation of the Security Department, conducts preliminary inquiries and investigations, prepares written reports, assists Hospital personnel, patients, guests and visitors. Maintains a constant state of alert for safety and security breaches. Patrols the facility to ensure the safety and security of our staff, patients, visitors and guests and the protection of company assets. Enforces Maryland State and local laws and ordinances, as allowed by law. May also direct and control traffic on public highways and roads in the immediate vicinity of the property. Also enforces LifeBridge Health Safety and Security policies and procedures during assigned shifts. REQUIREMENTS:
  • Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field.
  • Must have previously held a Special Police Officer Commission through the State of Maryland or successfully completed a Federal, State or Local Police Academy recognized by the Maryland Police Training Commission.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience; 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Preferred LEOSA Certification .
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to clear Fleet Safety requirements for operating LBH-owned vehicle.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SPO Certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a MD Handgun permit.
