Special Ops Physical Therapist (AFSOC Unit/Ft Bragg)

This is a temporary position beginning ASAP and expected to end September 2021.

This position does offer some relocation assistance if needed.

We are seeking a stellar Special Operations Physical Therapist who will provide evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. They are licensed independent practitioners and credentialed as direct care providers in specific military HP settings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat patients with or without referrals.
  • Refer patients to other POTFF staff members as needed.
  • Provide and perform services supporting POTFF's HP program for SOF personnel, focusing on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel: neuro-musculoskeletal injury care, including ordering images, labs, pharmaceuticals, dry needling, acupuncture, joint injections and aspirations, and referrals to specialists.
  • If directed, supervise PT Tech, PT Assistant, and/or Certified Athletic Trainer within their scope.
  • Participate in meetings to review care and identify improvements.
  • Advise on Sports Medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and human performance research.
  • Assist in administrative matters, procurement, and fiscal requests.
  • Conduct equipment, literature reviews to keep the program current.
  • Contribute to database development and utilization.
  • Perform peer reviews as directed.
  • Assist in developing job descriptions, performance standards, and clinical guidelines.
  • Support fiscal planning and participate in meetings.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and a safe work environment.
  • Participate in training and continuing education as required.
  • Maintain compliance with training requirements and document care in electronic health records and databases.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Collect and report data as requested.
  • Utilize computers and related technologies proficiently.
Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Secret Clearance or ability to obtain.
  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Certification through ABPTS (OCS or SCS) or NATA (ATC).
  • Maintain credentialing in good standing at local MTF.
  • Physical ability to hike, function in austere environments, and observe training.
  • Experience in manual therapy within sports medicine, preferably with athletes at NCAA, Olympic, professional, or SOF levels, minimum 5 years.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Current BCLS certification with proof.
Desired Education, Experience, Skills or Training:
  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Military or SOF experience.
  • Additional credentials like CSCS.
Standard Company Requirements:
  • Compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality policies.
  • Acceptable attendance and completion of training.
  • Other duties as required.
