Job summary

First Baptist Atlanta is seeking a Special Needs Ministry Coordinator to help create a safe, Christ-centered environment where every person is known, loved, discipled, and connected to the life of the church. You will partner with families, equip volunteers, and coordinate ministry programming and individualized care.

You will assess participants, arrange appropriate placement and accommodations, recruit and train volunteers, maintain participant records, and collaborate with Children’s Ministry

Qualifications

• Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with FBA's faith and values.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs or in related field required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Special Needs Ministry under the leadership of the Director of Children’s Ministry
• Provide a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered environment that supports biblical teaching, discipleship, and spiritual growth
• Partner with parents and caregivers to provide communication, resources, and support
• Assess participants and coordinate appropriate placement, accommodations, and individualized support
• Maintain accurate participant records to support safety, security, and effective care
• Recruit, train, equip, schedule, and support ministry volunteers
• Support outreach to families affected by disability and connect them to the Gospel and life of FBA
• Coordinate ministry programs, fellowships, and special events
• Collaborate with Children’s Ministry, Disciple Life, and other FBA ministries on programs and initiatives
• Provide administrative and ministry support to maintain an organized and effective ministry
