Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District 210 is seeking a Community Skills/Personal Assistant to support students with special needs in classrooms and extracurricular activities. You will assist teachers, help with lesson material preparation, track grades, and support behavioral and health needs in a school setting.

Role requires a high school diploma or GED, with two years of related experience; paraprofessional certification is desired and relevant certifications within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and experience with special needs students.
• Paraprofessional certification is desirable.
• CPR/EMT and non-violent behavior management certifications required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times.
• Assist teachers with instructional activities and materials.
• Maintain student records, folders and performance data; perform clerical tasks.
• Assist with IEPs and lesson planning; track grades and progress.
• Support behavioral management and student hygiene as needed.
• Transport students to off-campus activities when required.
• Administer medications under doctor’s orders with parental permission.
