What you'll be doing...

As the Special Markets Account Manager, you will collaborate and work closely with the Director of Special Markets, Sales Leadership, Marketing and Legal departments in the development and execution of the strategic direction of the Special Markets business segment, ensuring success by helping create and ultimately executing strategies that build sales, business segment profitability and competitive advantage in the Special Markets space, with a specific focus on increased sales to Dental Service Organizations (DSOs), Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and other group practices. This role combines high-level relationship management with sales leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional coordination to expand Burkhart's footprint and deliver value-added solutions to customers. You must have exceptional past experience in pipeline generation and negotiating skills that have resulted in the creation of profitable sales in the DSO/GPO space. Your integrity, strong communication skills, past sales performance and relationship building are key to your success.

COMPLIANCE: You work closely with in-house counsel & proactively ensure Burkhart is in compliance with regulatory programs and contracts.

EXCEPTIONAL CLIENT EXPERIENCE: You go above and beyond to provide an Exceptional Client Experience. Your communication and customer service skills are effective, respectful, and consistently of the highest quality.

EXPERTISE: Your internal and external clients view you as a category expert and problem resolution resource - you coordinate professionally among departments and external clients to find innovative solutions to business challenges and ensure follow-through and resolution.

NEGOTIATION SKILLS: You enjoy professional and respectful relationships with key partners, using highly effective negotiation skills to ensure a fair and competitive advantage.

STRATEGY: There is a clearly defined and well-communicated strategy for the department and individual business segments. You reliably forecast future needs and devise plans and programs to meet those needs.

TEAM MANAGEMENT: You are an exceptional coach, leader, and mentor for your associates. Your team is engaged, communicates well with each other, and other departments and associates.

What you'll need...

Bachelor's degree or equivalent direct experience.

7+ years of experience in professional Special Markets Sales in Dental, Medical or Healthcare distribution industries.

The associate must maintain a valid driver's license, maintain a good driving record (as defined by Burkhart's liability insurance), and be insurable at all times.

This position may require out of town travel up to 35% of each year.

Preferred Additional Education And/or Experience

Dental distributor Special Markets sales or leadership experience strongly preferred.

Working knowledge of Dental Procurement Software to DSO/GPO interface a positive.

Salary Info: The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000 annually.
