This position is eligible to telework up to one(1) day a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. Under the general direction of the Branch Chief, the Special Investigator serves as a subject matter expert and primary investigator for DGS. This position will be primarily responsible for the most sensitive and complex investigations. The position will require the establishment and update of procedures and other management tools to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the investigatory process is conducted effectively and expeditiously. The Special Investigator will be the primary DGS investigator and coordinate multiple investigations through other CIU and EEO staff across DGS divisions. This position does NOT have peace officer authority pursuant to Penal Code Section 830.
This position may require travel.
