Job summary

The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Staff Auditor I in the Special Investigations Division to audit complaints of government fraud, waste, and abuse. You will participate in planning, conduct fieldwork, and analyze transactions to design effective procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards (GAGAS/GAAS).
• Ability to assess accuracy, integrity, and conformance to rules and identify control weaknesses.
• Ability to recognize routine problems and reportable issues.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning meetings for audits to discuss risk and design procedures.
• Conduct on-site fieldwork and understand internal controls.
